Attic Roots Studio · four channels · spring reverb · tape echo · filter
You found the secret room. Pull the faders, send a channel into the spring or the tape echo, and sweep the stepped high-pass over the whole mix – a small bow to King Tubby, Lee Perry and all the dub masters.
Press play – the tape is ready.

FADERSDrag up and down, or use the arrow keys. Drop the drums out, bring the bass back in – the first lesson from the masters. The rest is feel, timing and a lifetime of listening.
AUX 1 · SPRINGClick the knob to send the channel into the spring reverb. The yellow lamp shows it is on. The bass send runs through a high-pass and a valve stage first – you hear the grit, the low end stays clean. KICK THE SPRING uses real impulse responses of a Fairchild 658 and a Reverbsystem 9 tank.
AUX 2 · ECHOTape echo in dotted eighths. Send a skank, pull the fader and let the echo ring out. On the bass only the upper range goes in, slightly driven.
HIGH-PASSClick or drag the big knob to step through 70 Hz … 10 kHz on the whole mix, then back to OFF.
“Major Step” and “Ratty Dub” by the Black Oak Roots Allstars, recorded at Attic Roots Studio. Headphones or a proper sound system recommended.
